Q Is my application kept confidential?
A Yes. Only authorized Housing Authority personnel, HUD personnel and our auditors have access to such information. Information is not disclosed or released without proper authorization from the applicant.
Q Once my name is placed on the waiting list, do I have to do anything else?
A Yes. Each year, the Housing Authority conducts an update of our waiting list, and you will need to complete an updated application to stay on the list. At any time, you may be requested to submit verification of the information you provided on your aplication forms. You should contact our office at any time your information changes, particularly changes in address, income or household size.
Q Are there any application fees?
A No
Q Are pets allowed in public housing?
A Yes, with certain restrictions. You are welcome to review our pet policy.
Q Can political contacts influence my status on the waiting list?
A No. Our agency follows strict regulations with respect to tenant selection.
Q Does the Housing Authority receive any Town or State funds?
A No. Our public housing program receives federal subsidy - however, we are not a federal agency. We are a political subdivision.
Q Is smoking allowed?
A Smoking is prohibited indoors at all our public housing facilities. This includes offices, community rooms, laundry rooms, hallways, any other common areas AND dwelling units. Smoking is permitted outdoors only!
